"War Department permanent buildings generally have suffered considerable damage to roofs, chimneys, glass and doors. Some galvanized iron huts, and the whole of the Matshed accommodation, have been levelled to the ground.
"The 6 Electric Light Emplacements at Belchers have been destroyed, but the Projectors have all been recovered by divers.
"The piers at Stonecutters Island are both badly damaged, and the whole Telephone system is disordered by broken poles and fallen trees.
"The Military Roads in the Kowloon Hills have some heavy slips of earth from above, but are themselves little injured.
